At District Arts Academy LLC we believe the arts are for everyone. That principle includes our website: we want anyone to be able to learn about our classes and reach us, regardless of how they browse.

Our commitment

We work to bring districtartsacademy.com in line with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the technical benchmark commonly used in the United States to meet the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

What we have done

• Descriptive alternative text on images that carry information.
• An ordered heading structure, so screen readers can navigate the page.
• Color contrast chosen so text reads comfortably.
• Keyboard navigation across menus, buttons and forms.
• A responsive design for phone, tablet and desktop, and for different text sizes.
• Visible labels on the contact form fields.
• All content available in Spanish and English.
• Respect for the system’s reduced motion preference: if you enable it, animations are turned off.

Limitations we know about

We would rather be honest about what is not solved yet:

• Some videos and posts we embed from social media lack captions or descriptions, because we do not control that content.
• There may still be decorative or older images we have not reviewed.
• Third-party maps (Google Maps) follow their own accessibility rules; that is why we always give the address in text as well.
